"GI-Map" DNA Stool Analysis

If you have been struggling with digestive complaints this test is a great way to see what may be hindering your healing. Many patient start with an outside-in approach to understanding what is wrong - they get colonoscopies, do scopes, have ultrasounds done. These tests are ALL crucial tests and absolutely needed to rule out dangerous health conditions, but for the majority of people the leave a big question mark remaining. If you've had similar testing done and are still struggling with digestive complaints, it might be time to look deeper, at a cellular level, to see how your digestive system is functioning.

What Can I Expect to Find Out?

By utilizing the GI-Map test, you will find out the following key things:

  1. Which pathogens are present in your gut, including viruses, bacteria, parasites, and worms

  2. How much beneficial bacteria are present in your gut (or how little)

  3. How well your digestive enzymes are funcitoning

  4. How much inflammation is present in the gut tissues

  5. How strong (or weak) your gut's immune system is

  6. If you potentially have "leaky gut"

  7. Whether you are reacting to gluten in the tissues of the gut

  8. If you are passing blood or fat in your stool

  9. If you have bacteria present that are scientifically researched to be linked to autoimmune conditions

Why DNA Instead of Culture?

In the last few decades, DNA analysis has transformed the field of microbiology. Almost all research of microbes utilize DNA methodology. More than ever before, we are keenly aware of the health benefits or disease risks brought about by the microorganisms that inhabit the human body.

Culture techniques, previously the standard, left up to 50% of bacterial species virtually invisible. Because most of the bacteria of the GI tract are anaerobes, culture based methods cannot cultivate them which leaves a large blind spot when trying to diagnose the source of infection.

Here is a webinar to understand further the impact of our microorganisms and how GI-Map testing can shed Some light.
